Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Author Details / Title Page
  • Manuscript (anonymised)
  • I have read the author guidelines for this journal
  • I have only submitted this article to this journal and it has not been published anywhere else
  • The research described has been conducted in accordance with the ethics and good practices of the Journal
  • All funding sources have been acknowledged

Author Guidelines

Submitting a Manuscript

Manuscripts must be sent online through our Submission Platform based on the OJS System. Before submit your manuscript you must be registered in the platform. In case of questions you can contact JMBE Editor: jmbe@redaedem.org
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished and not in the process of revision or approved for publication in another journal.
The language of the manuscripts can be Spanish or English. If the manuscript is submitted in a non-English language, we encourage authors to translate it to English once it is accepted.

Preparing your paper
Checklist: what to include

1.Title Page (use the  Author Details / Title Page)
Please include:

  • Title of the manuscript (maximum 80 characters without spaces)
  • Authors: their position, affiliation (university, department, postal address), the e-mail address. Where appropriate, please also include ORCiDs and social media handles (Twitter or LinkedIn). One author will need to be identified as the corresponding author.
  • Acknowledgments if applicable.
  • Financing funds, if applicable.
  • Ethical statement
  • Abstract (in Spanish and English): This summary of your article is normally no longer than 200 words. The policy of JMBE is that citation is not used in the summary.
  • Keywords: Authors should provide 5 key words that describe the work.

2.Manuscript (use the  manuscript template)
Please include:

  • Title of the manuscript (maximum 80 characters without spaces)
  • Abstract (in Spanish and English): This summary of your article is normally no longer than 200 words. The policy of JMBE is that it is not used in the summary.
  • Keywords: Authors should provide 5 key words that describe the work.
  • Text: single space, no maximun length. A font of 12 points. Arial font. The first line of each paragraph will have an indentation of 0.5 cm. We prefer not to use footnotes.

Style guidelines

Titles and subtitles
The titles and subtitles of the manuscript should not be listed and will be pasted to the left (without indentation) in bold:
THIS IS A FIRST LEVEL TITLE
This is a second level title
This is a third level title
This is a fourth level title. Text continues in the same line.

Tables and figures
Tables, figures, graphs and other illustrations will be cited as "Tables" or "Figures", numbered consecutively.

In text citation
JMBE follow the style guidelines American Psychological Association (APA).
1 author: García (2017) señala que… o… (García, 2017).
2 authors: García y Smith (2017) señalan que… o… (García & Smith, 2017).
3 authors: García, Smith, y Thomson (2017) señalan que… o… (García, Smith, & Thomson, 2017).
4 or more authors: García et al (2017) señalan que… o… (García et al, 2017).

When multiple works are cited at the same time they must be ordered alphabetically: (Espinar, Rodríguez & Martín, 2018; García & Smith, 2017).

When more than one work by the same author is published in the same year it should be cited: (García & Smith, 2017a, 2017b).

References
JMBE follow the style guidelines American Psychological Association (APA).

All references must have been cited in the text.
Please include doi of cited documents.
A French indentation of 0.5 cm will be used.

Review process

Manuscripts considered consistent with the JMBE mission and standards will be sent for review through a double-blind peer review process. All manuscripts will be submitted to external evaluators except those expressly requested by the editorial board.

The authors will receive the comments of the first review in approximately 4-6 weeks. The time from submission to publication is about 12-18 weeks

The reviewers will evaluate the manuscripts according to the following criteria:

  • Originality and importance of the central ideas
  • Quality of the treatment of the existing literature
  • Quality of the presentation of ideas
  • Design and execution of the research methodology (if applicable)
  • General contribution of the article to the advancement of education in management and business.

Special Issue

Journal of Management and Business Education publishes Special Issues with the aim of building a community of authors and readers to discuss the latest research and develop new ideas and research directions. Special Issues are led by Guest Editors and all Special Issue submissions follow JMBE's standard editorial process. The journal’s Editor-in-Chief and/or designated Editorial Board Member will oversee Guest Editor appointments and Special Issue proposals, checking their content for relevance and ensuring the suitability of the material for the journal. Further information on JMBE's Special Issue polices and Guest Editor responsibilities can be found here. For any inquiries related to a Special Issue, please contact the Editorial Office.

This journal encourages and enables you to share data that supports your research publication where appropriate and enables you to interlink the data with your published articles. Research data refers to the results of observations or experimentation that validate research findings.
